Saison 1

Milan, 1956. Ambitious young journalist Oriana Fallaci, fed up with her role as the 'Cinema girl', makes a bet with her editor: if she manages to interview Marilyn Monroe, she will finally have the chance to write about politics.

Oriana gets invited to a party full of Hollywood stars to interview them, but the actors are terrified by the press and would rather give up having fun than end up in the papers. However, she turns her failure into an opportunity.

Thanks to the help of powerful producer Albert Gordon, Oriana manages to interview some of Hollywood's biggest stars. However, when she realizes that her independence is at stake, she decides to leave and return home.

Oriana meets Alfredo again and falls in love, but the liaison is short-lived as Alfredo is leaving for London. After interviewing Frank Sinatra, she leaves the USA and convinces her editor to be sent to London to be with him.

Oriana slips intensely into the affair with Alfredo and ends up neglecting her work. When she finds out he is seeing someone else, she steps back, but discovers she is pregnant. To not lose him, she decides to end the pregnancy.
